How to get support from Sequoia

Who can be supported by Sequoia

Sequoia supports people living in:

  • Bristol
  • North Somerset
  • South Gloucestershire

To use this service, you must be registered with a GP in one of these areas.

How people are referred to Sequoia

Most people are referred to Sequoia by:

  • Mental health workers in GP surgeries 
  • The Primary Care Liaison Service (PCLS) or triage teams
  • MINT teams

How to ask for support

If you think Sequoia could help you, and you are not already getting help from another service, follow these steps:

  1. Contact your GP Tell them how you are feeling and that you would like support.

  2. Your GP will refer you They can refer you to an AWP Access team.These teams help find the right support for you.

  3. Access team review The Access team may refer you to Sequoia if it is suitable.

What happens after a referral

When Sequoia receives a referral:

  • We look at your referral information
  • We may speak to the person who referred you
  • We review your care records

This helps us decide if Sequoia is the right service for you.
